There may be an instance where you cannot utilize an item on your PC, because Intego Antivirus for Windows is preventing access. Intego Antivirus for Windows offers the option to add files, folders, websites, applications, and processes to an Exclusions list.
Once added to this list, Intego Antivirus for Windows will assume that these items are safe and will not scan them. You should only use this for items that have already been scanned by Intego Antivirus for Windows, or that you are absolutely certain are not malicious.

Opening and Viewing the Exclusions Menu
To manage your Exclusions, you will want to select the Settings option from the left side menu.
From here, select the Security tab in the top menu bar, to show the Security Settings.
Within the Security Settings, navigate to the Exclusions section and click on the option to Manage Exclusions.
This will open the Exclusions List, where you can select the type of item you would like to add to the Exclusion List. Select an item type from the drop down menu, then click on the Add button.
Here you will see three sections that categorize the item types on the Exclusion List. These categories are Web Shield, Real-Time Protection and Prevention Engine. Within each category you can select the item type that you would like to add as an exclusion. The options are: Websites, Applications, Files & Folders and Processes.
After an item has been excluded, you can view it in the Exclusions List.
Web Shield Exclusions
The Web Shield module is responsible for blocking malware downloads, suspicious websites, and web attacks while you browse the internet. The Web Shield category includes options to exclude Websites and Applications.
Website
To exclude a website, enter the URL for the website into the window and click the Exclude button.
Application
To exclude an application, click Browse and select the application you wish to exclude from your Programs list on your PC.
Real-Time Protection Exclusions
The Real-Time Protection constantly watches over your PC, protecting you from viruses and malware at all times. The Real-Time Protection category includes options to exclude Files and Folders.
Files
To exclude an individual, or group of files, click on the Browse button and then select the files you wish for Intego Antivirus for Windows not to scan.
Folders
To exclude an individual, or group of folders, click on the Browse button and then select the folders you wish for Intego Antivirus for Windows not to scan.
Prevention Engine Exclusions
The Prevention Engine blocks unknown and Zero-Day threats that use unconventional evasive techniques using advanced behavior analysis technology. The Prevention Engine category includes options to exclude Processes.
Processes
To exclude an individual, or group of processes, click on the Browse button and then select the folders you wish for Intego Antivirus for Windows not to monitor.
