Depending on the version of macOS that is running on your Mac, there are multiple methods for temporarily turning off NetBarrier. You can find the steps that correspond to your macOS version below.

For macOS Big Sur and Monterey
From the Intego Menu
From NetBarrier Preferences
Open NetBarrier and click the word 'NetBarrier' in the top menu bar. Choose Preferences from the drop down menu and click the General icon in the new window that appears.
Now, toggle the 'Off' switch and enter your macOS admin password if prompted to do so. Your software will be disabled until you manually enable it again.
For macOS Sequoia
If you are running macOS 15 Sequoia, then the location and steps for disabling NetBarrier have been updated and can be completed using the steps shown below.
Open System Settings:
Select General in the left side menu, then choose Login Items and Extensions:
Locate the Network Extensions item and select the information button, .
Locate the NetBarrier extension and toggle the button into the off position:
Enter your macOS admin password to authenticate the change:
For macOS Ventura and Sonoma
If you are running macOS 13 Ventura or 14 Sonoma, then the location and steps for disabling NetBarrier have changed and can be done using the steps shown below.
Open System Settings:
Select Network in the left side menu, then click on Filters:
Locate the NetBarrier extension and click on the arrows to update status from enabled to disabled:
For macOS Big Sur and Monterey
If you are running macOS Big Sur 11.0 or Monterey 12.0, then there is an additional step necessary to disable NetBarrier completely.
Open System Preferences > Network:
Highlight the NetBarrier Extension in the left column, and select the option Make Service Inactive. Now click Apply to save the changes.
