VirusBarrier X9: How To Enable Safe-Browsing

VirusBarrier X9 can detect if your web browsers are running with Safe Browsing enabled and warn you if this feature is disabled.  This article explains how to enable Safe Browsing for each supported browser:

Enable Safari Safe Browsing

Enable Firefox Safe Browsing

Enable Chrome Safe Browsing

 

Enable Safari Safe Browsing

Open Safari and access Safari > Preferences... from the top menu bar:

Navigate to the Security section and enable the option: Warn when visiting a fraudulent website

Enable Firefox Safe Browsing

Open Firefox and access Firefox > Preferences... from the top menu bar:

Navigate to the Privacy & Security section in the left hand column

Scroll down to the Security section and enable these two options: 

  • Block dangerous downloads 
  • Warn you about unwanted and uncommon software

Enable Chrome Safe Browsing

Open Chrome and access Chrome > Preferences... from the top menu bar:

Navigate to the Privacy and Security section in the left side menu, then select the option: Security

Enable Safe Browsing by clicking the button to select your level of protection.
